Mass Spectrometry for Analysis of Critical Quality Attributes of Biologics/Biosimilar
Date- 1st- 7th March,2021
Mass Spectrometry is the key analytical technology in current monoclonal antibody characterization and plays an increasingly important role for both global and fine structural characterization of therapeutic candidates. Modern mass spectrometers generate large amounts of high quality data that in turn allows protein sequencing and identification. The effort here is to educate and motivate students to take up challenging tasks in biopharmaceutical research as well as educate them on global scientific advances. This workshop will deal with some of the basic concepts and current approaches in the analysis of mass spec data in protein characterization.
KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Fundamentals of mass spectrometry
- The principles of PTMs and Glycosylation process
- Factors affecting glycosylation
- Data interpretation of mass spectrometry

Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) is a technique used for detection of aggregates in macromolecular solutions and determination of sizes of proteins, nucleic acid and complexes. This workshop will help you understand protein aggregation and protein-protein interactions using DLS techniques along with live lectures and experimentation.
Topics included
- Application of DLS in colloid characterisation: What to do and what not to do
- Protein aggregation studies using (Zetasizers) – Light Scattering Techniques – Dynamic Light Scattering, Static Light Scattering, Electrophoretic Light Scattering
- Light Scattering Tools for Protein Bioprocessing and Formulation
- Predicting stability of antibody therapeutics by unfolded-state , studies with high-throughput dynamic light scattering (HT-DLS)
- Panel Discussion (Importance and Regulatory approval of DLS based biologics/biosimilars)
